POLISHED CONCRETE
Rockscapes recently acquired a new piece of equipment that, when combined with some of their time proven techniques, allows them to produce a concrete floor finish second to none. This process is called the FGS (Fill Grind and Seal) Superfloor System. In a four-step process an existing concrete floor is filled, ground, sealed and then polished to a chosen level of finish.
The FGS Superfloor System produces a durable and easy to clean concrete surface that is also attractive. The first two steps of the FGS Floor System process can be employed to prepare a concrete floor for tile, linoleum, hardwood or other floor finishing products.
The following four steps are included in the FGS Superfloor System:
- Step 1
The concrete floor is degreased and cleaned (pressure washed) to prepare for the fill material. A repair material, Fusion-CreteŽ, is used to fill and repair all damaged areas, including open cracks, as required. - Step 2
The top layer of the existing concrete surface is completely removed using the HTC 800 (a large, planetary diamond grinder). A series of completely dust free grinding steps are then completed. The grinding continues until the rock matrix (stone & cement) appears and all surface blemishes have been removed. - Step 3The floor is sealed with a product called Seal HardŽ which provides long-term protection against oil, grease and salt contamination. With proper maintenance and regular cleaning, the concrete densifier, sealer, hardener will provide a lifetime of protection.
- Step 4
The sealed concrete is polished in successive steps using our polishing equipment and a series of diamond tools to achieve the desired finish.
A beautiful marble-like luster can be obtained using the FGS Superfloor System. The results are amazing, long lasting and durable. Customers like The Rent it Store in Saskatoon have used this system with tremendous success.
